Madison Park

A new park for the coastal town of Madison is located on a 42 acre abandoned airport. As architectural consultants for Anne Penniman Associates for Madison Park, GPA proposed designs for a new concession building and a dilapidated airplane hangar turned exhibition hall. Proposed materials- roughhewn timber, metal roofing and cladding, and tension rods - echo the landscape and industrial nature of airports of the past. Solar panels on the exhibition hall’s flat roof would provide electricity for both buildings. Area: 6,800 SQ FT
